The Thursday before spring break (2/27) we had a special critique with some clark alum. They liked what I did last semester much better than this semester, because it was photographs of things they would possibly see, but overlook. So over break I shot a roll with that in mind, and voila! got great feedback. That critique made me realize I was searching for photos, not taking advantage of what was just happening. Not that I dislike the photos I made earlier this semester, but these are more... something.

In this last one, I'm in the process of taking out a window on the left, so hence black mess. I'm also considering taking out some of the yellow in it, and in the middle one.
Anymore additional feedback is always awesome and appreciated!

Summer 2008

I'm in the process of scanning in everything from last summer, and I found this image. There's something off still to me in the colors. I think it's got a little too much orangeyness in it. But I'm more concentrated on getting everything into digital form right now. More to come!

Bathroom

My Toilet
Dudley, MA 2008

I shot 1/2 of my film on 1/60th of a second instead of bulb(I was holding open for 10-15 seconds), so I had to reshoot some. I only reshot the ones I really liked, this was one of them. Actually, the original didn't have the toilet in it so I'm glad that happened. This photo makes me feel kind of weird because it reminds me of throwing up and that tunnel vision you have going towards the toilet.

Living Room Ash Tray
Dudley, MA February 2009

I know, I know, I suck at updating blogs. Reason: I feel I must present a finished, final edit of a photo. I've gotten over that, so you'll start getting them as I do. I'm pretty confident this one will make it to the thesis show. I like it, and it's gotten great feedback. These kinds of photos come after I've been sitting around in the living room for too long, and the tv has long become uninteresting.

woods

Woods
Dudley, MA Jan 09

Last semester I was recommended to look at Jitka Hanzlova's work. She does a series on trees that I fell in love with (too bad the book is 300 bucks :( It'll be a while until I've saved up money for that.). So I'm interested in doing a series through the seasons on my own woods.

Huggin'

Mom and Eric, Dec 2008
Dudley, MA

I always feel I should write more about my images, but I never know how much to say about them. This is my mom and her boyfriend, hugging. They've been together since I was 10/11ish, I'm now 21. So it's been awhile and they love each other a lot. I feel my edges aren't as resolved as they could be, so I'll reshoot this sometime.
